SENIOR ADULT MINISTRY

Our mission is inspired by the core values that unite us as a community of faith. We are committed to fostering spiritual growth, building meaningful relationships, and extending a welcoming hand to all who seek fellowship and support. Central to our purpose is the aim to nurture individual gifts and create opportunities for collective enrichment, ensuring that every member feels valued and uplifted.

Luncheon monthly meetings keep the adults aware of the ministering availabilities for that month, to recognize people's identity value in terms of wisdom, experience, knowledge, talents, and other God given gifts. We offer a variety of activities and event outings including Adult Retreats, educational tours, fun, and musical outings for both men and women.

SENIOR ADULT  NEWS

As the colder months arrive, no one can deny that winter is on its way. Leaves are turning color and falling, which signals it’s time to clean up and prepare for the cold months. It’s also time to tidy up flower beds, as we are senior adults, we much be careful not to slip and fall, both indoors and outdoors.
Aside from fall prevention, we must also take note of the growing number of friends and family   members in our locality who may have dementia. Would you like to learn more about dementia and how it impacts others?
We are happy to invite you to our upcoming Senior Adult meeting on Tuesday, Nov 11, at  11:45 AM. This month, we have a pertinent and educational program with Lynn Joyner, Dementia Specialist for the Heart of Georgia Altamaha Regional Commission. Lynn will provide critical information on various types of dementia, their symptoms and signs, and potential causes.
Our group is welcoming to all, and we encourage you to bring a guest with you. As a celebration of the season, we will be having a Thanksgiving dinner. Participants are asked to bring a covered dish to share.
We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, November 11, at 11:45 at the Oaks Church!
